Love Island 2018: everything you need to know

Pretend all you like to know nothing about Love Island.

The guilty pleasure reality series - where singletons travel to a sun-soaked location in a bid to find romance - has racked up impressive viewing figures in the last couple of years. So a lot of you are obviously watching it.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the show's fourth series this summer, which is almost certainly about to get underway.

It could start any day now

ITV haven't released any concrete details on the start date for series 4 of Love Island, but we can still take an educated guess.

The previous three seasons have always jetted off in either the last week of May, or the first week of June.

As we edge ever nearer to the end of May, it seems likely that Love Island is no more than a couple of weeks away.

It will be the longest series yet

2015 and 2016's editions of Love Island ran for six weeks, while last year's romp was stretched out to seven.

According to Radio Times, 2018 could see the longest Love Island yet, with a mammoth eight weeks of programming.

It could be packed full of 'celebs'

No names have been officially announced by ITV, but that hasn't stopped the rumour mill grinding into gear.

Love Island's mid-00s incarnation featured celebrity names, but since its 2015 reboot, it has featured 'normal' people in the villa.

But it looks like the crossover between members of the public and 'celebrity' (although we may be using that term lightly) is growing.

Theo Campbell entered the villa in 2017, and may have let the cat out of the bag when recently tweeting: "When I go on this time, I'm actually going try and find love."

Another name tipped to re-enter in the search for love is series 3 winner Kem Cetinay, who captioned an Instagram post with "wouldn't mind another summer in the villa. Second time lucky" recently.

Elsewhere the adopted son of an I'm a Celebrity'¦ contestant (Dima Ziadie), a vlogger and YouTube 'star' (Katie Snooks), the daughter of one of The Real Housewives of Cheshire (Taylor Ward), and the brother of former contestant Gabby Allen (Ethan Allen) are all rumoured to appear.

Not to mention Dani Dyer, the daughter of EastEnders publican, Danny Dyer...

It's still in Mallorca

All signs point to the show returning to the same Mallorcan villa as last year, an impressive abode in the sleepy town of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on the island's east coast.

The setting will likely have been redesigned to make it stand out from last year's series.

Familiar faces (and voices) are returning

As usual, Caroline Flack will be introducing proceedings on the reality show, while Scotland's own Iain Sterling returns for his sarcastic narration (a highlight for viewers not so interested in the titillating goings on).
