The team, consisting of Juliet Naylor, Isobel Everest and Fiona Wynde, finished in second place overall and first in the Female Vet category, with Juliet also receiving the trophy for being the first lady vet.

The event, hosted by Biggleswade AC, attracted around 500 competitors from across Beds and Bucks – the park also playing host to the Bucks county cross country championships.

Biggleswade AC hurdler, Euan Dickson-Earle was back in action at the Metaswitch Open Games on January 3 following a long period away from the track due to injury.

This was his first season competing in the 60m hurdles at senior level yet he still managed a third place, podium finish, in the final.

Euan’s younger brother, Callum, has also moved up an age category and competed, for the first time, in the U20 men’s 60m hurdles finishing seventh.

Continuing with indoor athletics, Dan Steel competed at the England Athletics U20/Senior Combined Events Championships in Sheffield over the weekend. It was a good start to the season with Dan notching up 3,374pts in total, 10pts short of a new personal best. Rather frustratingly, Dan, also, narrowly missed out on a new heptathlon club record by just 3pts.
