Biggy had enjoyed a great start with centre Lawrence Hutchinson ploughing down the middle of the park as early as the second minute for a try under the posts.

But the visitor gave away far too many penalties in the first half, and from one Dunstablians cut the deficit.

However, Biggleswade stretched their lead with a flowing move down the right flank as second row Jonathan Hamilton went over.

Dees then scored the first of their five tries as some pretty inept tackling attempts led to the softest of scores under the posts.

The hosts then added a second after a wayward cross kick and stretched their lead to dozen points with another try on the stroke of half-time.

In the second period Biggy did show some spirit at long last and hit back with a couple of tries to rekindle hopes of a surprise win.

Hutchinson was in the right place to go over for his 12th try of the season after good work by debutant fly half Phil Tipping. Then number eight James Smith went over after good work from the forwards.

But the hope of a cup run was dashed when the referee awarded a penalty try after Biggleswade spun the scrum close to their line.
