Biggy fall to Dees

Midlands Two East (South)
Biggleswade 11 Dunstablians 19

Biggleswade turned in a gutsy performance but were eventually beaten 19-11 by Dunstablians in their Midlands Two East South clash on Saturday.

Against the elements, the hosts still went ahead though as Sam Fraser kicked a penalty, but Dees responded strong and moved 5-3 in front with well worked three-quarter try.

Biggleswade soon regained the lead with another Fraser penalty, but Dunstablians up the pace though and scored a second try in similar fashion to lead by four points at the break, adding a penalty to edge further ahead.

Fraser made excellent use of the wind to put Biggleswade into good positions with some well weighted kicks.

It was from one of these that Biggy scored their only try too as the the ball was recycled and popped from scrum-half Michael Trigg to centre Lawrence Hutchinson, who used his strength to power over in the corner.

Biggleswade are away to league leaders Huntingdon this weekend, while the third team meet Cantabrigians in a league and cup double at home, kick-off 2.15pm.

The development side meet Renegades at home, with the pick of Sunday’s games, the U17s away to Saracens at their Bramley Road stronghold.
