On Sunday the younger Mini’s players meet Huntingdon at home while those from age 9 upwards play in the historic Mobbs Memorial Match preliminary rounds.

Northampton Saints and England captain Edgar Mobbs was a national hero during the Great War. Upon the outbreak of World War One, undeterred by the denial of an officer commission due to his age, he formed what became known as the ‘Sportsman’s Battalion.’ 264 men, led by Mobbs and was killed leading an assault on a machine gun post during the Third Battle of Ypres.

Back at Biggleswade on Sunday the Under 14s play Hackney Bulls in the Saracens Herts and Middlesex Leagues while the U18s go away to Oundle
