Organisers had struggled to find a big enough venue in the North London area but agreed on Biggleswade following a visit to the club during a particularly busy Sunday,

Fred McCarthy from Herts & Middlesex Rugby said: “Biggleswade RUFC have six pitches available to us and their total facilities meet all our criteria.”

The event will take place on Saturday, April 25 and involve senior sides playing in the Merit Tables.

Fixture secretary Richard Phipps said: “This will be a great way to showcase the club, we are proud to be the first venue outside of Hertfordshire and Middlesex to host the event which will attract hundreds of spectators.”

He added that very few clubs in the area have the space that Biggy have.

Biggleswade are no stranger to organising big events as hosts of the Greene King Finals a few years ago with the club regularly hold Mini and Junior tournaments.
