Bloomfield in winning groove as runners brave the elements

The annual Bedfordshire Schools Cross County Relays, hosted by Biggleswade AC, were held at Rowney Warren, Chicksands last Wednesday.

Despite the snow blizzards and freezing temperatures, a total of 10 schools attended with just over 200 school children competing.

In the first race of the day over the 1km relay route, the Boys school years 5 and 6 race, Robert Bloomfield finished first and third, with Lincroft claiming second place.

In the Girls school years 5 and 6 race, Robert Bloomfield made it two wins in a row, however Lincroft captured the remaining two spots on the podium.
