Astonishing East Beds Shield match ends in tie

Biggleswade and Potton played out a thrilling East Beds Charity Shield match on Tuesday evening - the game ending in a tie.

Biggleswade made 84-7 from their 16 overs with Adam Lawrence and Matt Twigg being the main contributors with 20 each. For Potton. Dan Hall took 3-26 and Niall Hamshere 3-19.

In reply Potton appeared to be cruising to a win, reaching 42 off their first six overs.

However the removal of Kelvin MacFarlane and a double wicket maiden bowled by Toby Charter put the match back into the balance.

Potton required just six runs to win from their last two overs, but only a scrambled single off the last ball of the innings meant that the match was tied.
