Bowling first, the Waresley seam attack made good use of damp conditions to destroy the visitor’s powerful batting line up. Rob Lowin, four wickets for 11 runs in his 10 overs, and Gary Cole, who took four wickets for six runs in his 10 overs were the main protagonists.

Waresley made short work of the target, losing only one wicket in the 11.1 overs batted, with Ian Donald topscoring with 19 not out.

Blunham’s difficult campaign continued with a defeat at Wisbech although they did manage to pick up some bowling points.

Michael Pickard took 3-45 as Wisbech made 233-9. Blunham were never in danger of reaching that, and were bowled out for 130.
