The game finished 1-1, ending Arlesey’s recent run of five defeats in the Southern League Division One Central stretching back to early December.

It was goalless at the break, although Uxbridge had rattled the woodwork early on.

However they took the lead seven minutes into the second period when Dan Bailey’s free kick somehow found its way into back of the Blues’ net.

It was looking like Arlesey would end the day pointless but just two minutes from time they were awarded a penalty and Christian Tavernier stepped up to score.

The point sees Arlesey sit fifth from bottom in the table but 11 points clear of the drop zone.

Next up are two tricky away games first at Aylesbury on Saturday, then at table-topping Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday.
