It was Arlesey who started the better with Hibbert’s header cleared off the line by Alex Stanley.

Just before the break, the deadlock was broken when a corner was headed across goal by Danny Gordon and Hibbert crossed for Chris Dillon to score.

The Blues began the second period at a high tempo as Roberts’ corner was nodded into the net by Dillon.

It was all Arlesey now as Hibbert shot low past the keeper for 3-0, while Miller notched his first goal for the club after Thorne’s throughball.

Didcot could only muster a shot into the side-netting, before Pablo Haysham’s shot was well saved by Nathan Abbey.

It was soon 5-0 though when Dillon slid a fine ball through for Thorne to calmly open his account for his new side, before Arlesey wrapped up the scoring when Dillon’s shot was parried, allowing Cam Mawer to convert the rebound.

The Blues will now face Leamington in the semi-final of the competition with the tie taking place on Tues, February 26 at 7.45pm.

Arlesey are away to Bideford in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division this weekend.
