Arlesey slip to defeat at blustery Hanwell

Arlesey always looked on the back foot at a wet and windy Hanwell Town on Saturday and slipped to a 3-0 loss.

With a blustery wind blowing against them Arlesey’s cause was not helped when Taylor Rhiney limped off early on with a hamstring injury.

Hanwell took the lead when Bart could not hold a shot and he was pounced on by three forwards who bundled the ball in, William Healey getting the final touch.

The wind dropped a bit in the second period but it was replaced by icy rain. Hanwell went two ahead on 52 minutes when Healey headed home from close range.

Arlesey had the chance to get back into the game when Tony Williams was upended in the box. A penalty was given and Jack Vasey struck his kick well but it was excellently saved by the keeper.

Arlesey applied more pressure but a superb crossfield ball found Kyle Watson who volleyed home with eight minutes to go.
