It was their second home success in a row and it also saw them record their first double of the season.

The Blues made a few changes because of injury and unavailability and brought in new signing Joe Steele who is on loan from MK Dons.

Looking lively up front and with Steele in defence Arlesey created at least seven or eight good chances in the opening 45 minutes.

They converted the all important goal right on the stroke of half time as Tony Williams pulled a great ball back that Christian Tavernier put home with a good degree of skill for his second in two games.

There were more chances for Arlesey in the second half but with a great debut from Steele Arlesey defended well and there was also a commanding performance from keeper Nick Thompson as they successfully defended the 1-0 lead.

Another very entaining game saw Arlesey move up the table one place further from the drop zone.

On Saturday they visit Aylesbury United.
