Biggleswade FC smash eight past Codicote

SSML Division One leaders Biggleswade FC were simply irresistable as they romped to a 8-0 win over Codicote on Saturday.

With the opening six minutes tight they got a massive slice of luck as Adam Hunt found space down Biggleswade’s right and hit a fierce first time cross that cannoned off a defender and into the net.

With confidence high FC took quick advantage as Ryan Inskip and Alex Marsh exchanged passes before Inskip cleverly placed the ball in the bottom corner for 2-0 after only eight minutes.

The third came on 11 minutes – this time Owen Dixon and Marsh linked well and Tom Cookman cleverly let the ball run to Lee Northfield who found the top right hand corner.

Codicote, through ex-Wader Bobby Dance, saw a free kick go wide and new signing Dan Child made a good save from Leroy Williams.

Biggleswade got their fourth on 24 minutes, Northfield holding off three challenges before finding Cookman who blasted in his 13th of the season.

Ryan Inskip almost got his second as he clipped a post before FC added the fifth on 37 minutes, Northfield finding space on the left and his pass allowing Inskip the simplest of finishes.

The sixth arrived on 55 minutes as Pat McCafferty and Marsh linked finding Inskip who netted for a deserved hat trick.

Codicote produced a quality move on 57 minutes that saw Williams beat Child but brilliant back tracking from George Riley saw him clear the shot off the line.
