Biggleswade Town head into play-offs

The Waders were held to a draw on Easter Monday - and they now go into the end of season league play-offs on Thursday.

A 13th minute goal from Biggleswade Town striker Harry Hunt was cancelled out by Soham Town Rangers’ Foster 16 minutes from time at the Carlsberg Stadium in front of 151 fans.

That means the Waders have finished fourth in Zamaretto Southern League Central and will now be away to Daventry Town in Thursday’s play-off semi-final.

Daventry were held in a goalless Easter Monday draw at Woodford United in front of 237 fans.

But that still ensured that they finished third behind champions Arlesey (88 points) and runners-up Hitchin Town (87 points) with 81, the same points as the Waders but with a ten goal advantage.

Hitchin Town host Slough in the other play-off semi.

At Hall Road in Division One of the United Counties League, Eynesbury Rovers thrashed Potton 6-0 to halt a three match winning run for United.
