Arlesey Town suffered a dent to their play-off hopes as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Barwell on Saturday.

With Leon Hibbert suspended and Drew Roberts unavailable, in came Jeanmal Prosper and Chris Marsh, while Shane Blackett replaced Josh Cook.

Ollie Thorne fired wide early for Arlesey and Chris Dillon tested Liam Castle, who tipped over the bar.

Just before the break, Arlesey fell behind as Matthew Brown headed goalwards, and despite the best efforts of Nathan Abbey, the assistant referee adjudged the ball had crossed the line.

After the break, Marsh fired straight at Castle, while Dillon was also denied by the keeper, but try as they might, Arlesey couldn’t find an equaliser.

The result sees Arlesey eight points away from the play-offs, although they do have four games in hand.
