Stotfold concede twice late on in 'mental' draw at Winslow
Stotfold boss Eddie McLoughlin labelled it a ‘mental’ game as his side were held to a 4-4 draw at Winslow United in their Southern League Division One Central clash on Tuesday night.
The visitors fell 2-0 behind inside half an hour, Harry Scott and Ty Deacon on target, before new signing Taylor Rhiney pulled one back.

After the break, Ciaran Maher made it 2-2 on 53 minutes, as the Eagles then moved in front through Pierce Mitchell (77), Taylor Franklin converting a penalty to put Stotfold 4-2 ahead.
However, Louie Howarth scored in the 90th minute, before Ryan Freshwater netted in stoppage time to earn Winslow a point.
McCloughlin said: “It was an extraordinary game of football, going in 2-1 down at half-time, we didn't feel like we deserved to be 2-1 down, but hadn't really got into our stride.
"Second half we tweaked a few bits and pieces, got the equaliser and then the third, fourth. You think with five, 10 minutes to go, it will be enough to win the game, but credit to Winslow, they put everything on us that they could and got the equaliser at the death.
"It could have gone either way. It was a mental game and the boys played their socks off and worked really, really hard.
"They probably feel like they've won the game and probably like we’ve maybe lost the game, but when you sit back and reflect on it, you think it was a crazy game of football.”
Stotfold had been held to a 1-1 draw at home by Beaconsfield Town on Saturday, Lewis Thomas with the goal, as they host Flackwell Heath this weekend.
» Biggleswade United lost 2-0 at home to Risborough Rangers in their SSML Premier Division clash on Saturday.
Boss Kane Dougherty said: "First half, I felt we were slightly the better side. When they score their goal, we actually had control of the game, we looked like the side who were going to score.
"Then the way it's been going for us in recent weeks, the second goal we just gifted to them really. It’s so frustrating as the lads work so hard, more than matched them.
"Second half we went more aggressive, but they managed it better than us and I thought they were good value for their win at the end. They showed why they are where they are.”
United head to Lymore Gardens in the FA Vase this weekend and then visit Baldock Town for a league clash on Tuesday night.
