Waders held in ten goal thriller - Arlesey beat Eagles

A second half Chris Dillon double against one of his former clubs gave Arlesey Town their second win in front of a 322-strong Eyrie crowd at Bedford on Saturday afternoon.

In a lacklustre opening half littered with silly bookings and a couple of more serious injuries, neither hosts Bedford Town or the Blues really gained the upper hand in what was a dull and easily forgotten Bedfordshire derby.

However when substitute Joel Mason replaced teammate Aston Goss after 57 minutes, suddenly Arlesey looked slightly the better side and when Mason was fouled inside the Eagles area seven minutes later by Bedford sub Jon Darby, referee Reeve immediately pointed to the spot and Dillon’s penalty kick went in via the inside of home keeper Ian Brown’s left-hand upright to break the deadlock.
