Waders snap up striker Reed and announce Hatters clash

Biggleswade Town have signed former Bury Town striker Sam Reed, while Paul Barnes has left the club, writes Mike Simmonds.

The forward, who scored both goals in the Blues’ Suffolk Premier Cup final win over Needham Market in 2011, became a fans’ favourite at Ram Meadow, helping them to four trophies in the last four years.

He contributed more than 20 assists as Bury won the Suffolk Premier Cup for the second time in three seasons and finished seventh in the Ryman League Premier Division last season.

Meanwhile, the Waders will host Conference side Luton Town in the Beds FA Premier Cup on Monday, July 15 as part of their pre-season schedule.
