This week the Waders announced that Lee Reed, Max York, Lee Allinson and Cam Mawer have signed new deals, joining Ian Brown, Steve Gentle and Craig Daniel in committing to the club for next season.

And Nunn says that he is pleased to see his hard work paying off. “In pre-season it’s up to the manager to do the hard work,” he said.

“I’m more or less constantly on the phone at the moment which is all part and parcel of it.

“We are only looking at bringing in two or three new faces because we want to retain most of the squad from last season.

“Most of the players seem keen to stay on which is great news. We’ve already got a good chunk of the squad sorted so it’s going well.”

The Waders enjoyed an excellent 2013/14 campaign, and Nunn is aiming for more of the same next season.

“We had a terrific season this year and we want to try and kick on and beat that,” he said.

“I personally think that the league is going to be stronger than last season. Of the sides that have come up, I can’t see any of them being relegated.

“It’s a big ask because there are some big, strong teams, but I’m really looking forward to it.”

Speaking to the Biggleswade Chronicle, Nunn revealed that the club has a number of pre-season fixtures in the pipeline, but the dates of these are, as yet, unconfirmed.

The Waders will welcome Luton Town to Langford Road, as well as visiting Biggleswade United in two of the friendly clashes.

In total, Nunn expects around eight pre-season matches to be arranged.
