Young Stotfold keeper earns trial at Brentford

Stotfold’s teenage goalkeeper George Darlow has earned a trial at League One side Brentford, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 16-year-old was expected to turn out for the Bees in friendly match last night (Thursday) after impressing for the Rokermen’s U18s, reserve and first team.

Boss Steve Young said: “His handling is superb and he’s an all rounder.

“He will become a very good, confident all round goalkeeper. I’m sure he won’t be fazed by it at all.”
