A bullseye for war fund

Members of The White Horse Darts Team, Gamlingay posed together for this 1942 photo in aid of the Gamlingay War Fund. In the back row are Charlie Gilbert, Harry Meeks, and ‘Ickle’ Meeks. The middle row features Stan Gore, Mr and Mrs Gaunt, J Scarrott and Frank Daisley. And in the front row is Hank Gilbert, Bill Maskelyne, Jack Payne, Horace Gilbert, and Arthur Housden.

The Wells & Winch White Horse sign can be seen in the foreground with Simpson’s Green Man Sign in the background. Some of the players are wearing their Home Guard Uniform.
