Lost voices from long ago

CAMPTON’S all male church choir gather for a photograph taken behind Campton Rectory in around 1906/7.

Standing in the centre is Rector George Osborn of the Osborn family and brother to Sir Algernon, 7th baronet at Chicksands Priory.

Trevor Walker’s grandfather Arthur Burnage, who went on to become a gardener on the Osborn’s estate, features again in this photo. He is seated third from left in the second row and recognisable in his spectacles as a slightly younger lad from his picture above.

Trevor also has a family photograph featuring the men who are standing third and fifth from left in the back row of the choir.

They were photographed with his great grandmother around 20 years earlier in 1887.

Trevor would love to know the connection. Please contact Memory Lane if you can name these choir members.
