Times Past: Village Home Guard

Thanks go to Nigel Starling for sending in this photograph. It was among family albums and he would like to know more about it.

He said: “We know from the background that it was taken near Northill Parish Church and that our father Stan Starling, who joined the Home Guard, is standing back row far left.

“We are not sure of the reason for the picture or who the other men are, maybe this will jog some memories for other families that may be able to identify our local men in the Bedfordshire Home Guard.”
