Have your say over the Sandy Neighbourhood Plan in this week's referendum vote
The referendum vote is on May 14
Sandy people are being asked to have their say in a referendum over the town's neighbourhood plan.

It asks whether residents believe Central Bedfordshire Council should consider the plan and its policies when making decisions about planning applications relevant to Sandy.
A spokesperson for Sandy Town Council explained: "The referendum is a Yes/No vote on the future of the Sandy Neighbourhood Plan. There may be individual items in the documents/policies that you do not agree with, however, you are voting for the overall content of the plan and how this would need to be considered by Central Bedfordshire Council when making planning decisions which effect Sandy and its future development.
"The plan has been shaped over several years through collaboration between local residents and town councillors, with policies developed through public consultation with the people of Sandy. It serves as a guide to the future of Sandy.
"This is an important opportunity to have your say. Please don’t view the referendum as unimportant. A positive vote helps ensure that Sandy Town Council retains a valuable tool to work with and challenge Central Bedfordshire Council on planning decisions, helping to ensure that future developments reflect the wishes and interests of the Sandy community."
The vote takes place on May 14. You can find out more about the town plan online at: https://linktr.ee/SandyBedsNP
