Big Garden Birdwatch at St Swithun's Parish Church, Sandy

On Saturday, 24th January, St Swithun’s Parish Church in Sandy is taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch from 1.30pm–3pm.
Anyone is welcome to join in with the annual birdwatching project in this peaceful churchyard setting. There will also be activities for children and refreshments available in the church.
St Swithun’s Rector, Rev Jodie Brown, says: “With its abundance of mature trees, hedging and planting, St Swithun’s churchyard is a haven for wildlife with plenty of resident birds to be spotted.
"Our church has recently become an Eco Church, committed to taking practical action to reduce our environmental impact and providing opportunities for the Sandy community to share in the beautiful surroundings of our churchyard.”

The Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Organised by the RSPB, it invites bird watchers and nature lovers to spend an hour outdoors in gardens or nature during the weekend of 23rd–25th January, to record the birds you spot and help to build a picture of how garden birds are faring.
