Road closures for Central Bedfordshire drivers to watch out for in latest public notices
Drivers are being warned of road closures across the area for highway maintenance, water works and railway improvements.
The latest public notices include temporary traffic restrictions affecting roads in Biggleswade, Sandy, Shefford, Langford, Tempsford and surrounding villages.
Thorncote Road in Hatch and Northill, along with Thorncote Green, will be closed from November 23 to 24 between 9am and 3pm for Anglian Water maintenance work. A diversion will be in place via Thorncote Road, Ickwell Road, Northill Road, Caldecote Road, Ickwell Road, Vinegar Hill and Hatch Road.
Church Crescent in Langford will also be closed at its junction with Mill Lane from November 24 to December 7, between 8am and 6pm, to allow uncontrolled pedestrian crossing works to be completed. There will be no alternative route for this closure.
Meanwhile, Station Road in Tempsford will be closed around the level crossing from 6am on November 28 until 3.30am on November 30 to allow track renewal works to take place. The closure will extend for approximately 20 metres on either side of the level crossing, with no alternative route provided.
Mead End in Biggleswade will also be closed from November 23 to 25, between 9am and 3.30pm, to allow carriageway patching works. No alternative route has been specified.
Greenway, Campton, will be closed outside number 59 from November 9 to 18 for the installation of new water mains. A diversion will operate via Campton Road, High Street, Shefford Road, the A507 and Greenway.
Newton Way in Sandy is set to be closed on November 13, between 8am and 6pm, for carriageway patching works. No alternative route is available.
Millows, Dunton will close outside number 2 from November 9 to 11 for stop tap replacement works. A diversion will operate via Dunton Lane, Saxon Drive, the A6001, A1, C184 and Millow.
High Street, Wrestlingworth will be closed outside number 49 from November 11 to 13 for a new water connection. A diversion will operate via Hatley Road, Sutton Road, the B1041 and High Street.
Mayfields, Shefford will be closed between Maycroft and Sekaran Close from November 9 to 10, between 9am and 5pm, for remedial highway works. No alternative route is available.
