Lindsay, 48, said: “I wrote regular articles for an online resource - one a month - working through the alphabet. When I got to Z it made sense to pull everything together into one published book.

“I love the diversity of my job, I love writing, designing and delivering training programmes across the world, and speaking at bigger events, conferences and seminars.

“I suppose what I love the most is helping PAs understand the value they add to their organisations.”

What Lindsay calls her impressionable (teenage) years were spent growing up in Hong Kong, before she returned to Oxfordshire and attended secretarial college.

She started her career as a PA back in the 1990s, working both as a PA and EA for 10 years, which included a secondment to Chicago before time out to “be a mum”.

Lindsay then retrained as a coach, trainer and practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) in 2007, and set up Your Excellency Limited with her husband and co-director, Malcolm.

Commenting on her favourite places to travel, Lindsay said: “For work, it is probably the Far East – Hong Kong has a special place in my heart, as I have so many happy memories of being at school there. Singapore is another favourite. I’m definitely a warm weather person and love being able to soak up the sunshine at the end of a training day.”

Looking to the future, she added: “Obviously with the impact of Covid, we’ve taken our services online now. We’ve developed a virtual academy - so that people can access our accredited training wherever they are in the world.”
