Bears congregating in the rectory garden

CHILDREN had the chance to enjoy a meal in the company of their favourite furry friends.

St Mary’s Church in Potton held its annual teddy bears’ picnic on Friday, July 29.

Plenty of bears attended, as did their accompanying youngsters.

The picnic, provided by Rosemary Kimber and the St Mary’s social committee, was the official highlight of the day but there were plenty of other activities for the children.

While the bear owners ate their food in the rectory garden they were entertained by songs from Sarah Banks, accompanying herself on the guitar.

And the children were in for a big surprise. They were able to meet some real rabbits – as well as more teddy bears. The rabbits had been loaned by congregation members, Bea and Mike.

Bea also made a teddy bears’ picnic cake for the youngsters in honour of the occasion.

The picnic was the final event after a year of Mums and Toddlers Group meetings.
