Farmers and firefighters battle crop blaze near Cockayne Hatley
Firefighters and farmers worked together to douse a crop fire near Cockayne Hatley on Saturday (July 18).
Crews from Biggleswade, Kempston, Sandy – and two from neighbouring county Hertfordshire – were called to the fire at 6.52pm near the bottom of Bar Lane, Hatley St George.
Firefighters "used hose reels and beaters" to extinguish the fire, whilst farmers carried out a fire break.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
