High sheriff plants the future in our towns

The High Sheriff of Bedfordshire is creating a legacy of trees.

Sheriff Jack Sapsworth spent Friday, December 14 planting trees in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

His visits included stops in Shefford High Street, Sandy cemetery, the Henry Smith Playing Field in Potton and Arlesey where he was helped by pupils from Gothic Mede Lower School.

Sandy received an ornamental cherry tree and Potton a walnut tree.
