Navy charity aids causes

A Royal Navy charity has donated almost £50,000 to causes in Chronicle Country and beyond.

The Biggleswade branch of the Royal Naval Association (RNA) invited representatives from charities around the area to a cheque presentation day at the Stratton House Hotel in the town.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance charity (EAAA) was among the good causes that benefited, and received a cheque for £1,000.

A further £9,000 was donated to the RNLI.

Cheques for £1,000 were also given to Keech Hospice Care, the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth.

The RNA branch is also keen to support other charities that help current and former personnel, and further £9,000 cheques have been sent to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund and other relevant organisations.
