New amateur dramatic group in Shefford

ASPIRING actors and actresses are being invited to join a new amateur dramatic group.

Mad About Drama (MAD), which meets weekly at Shefford Memorial Hall is currently rehearsing for its new production, but is keen to increase its ranks.

The group was formed last November by a small band of budding thespians who had previously belonged to other groups but had left them for various reasons.

Group secretary Tracy Montague, who lives in Clifton hopes the group will attract anyone in the area who has an interest in drama and stage productions.

She said: “There are about eight of us in the group at the moment.

“Most of us live in Shefford and Clifton and have previously belonged to other similar organisations, but have not been able to carry on due to family and work commitments.”

The group, who will be staging Alan Ayckbourn’s Mr A’s Amazing Maze Plays on Saturday, February 25 realised that there was definitely scope for such an organisation in Shefford.

Tracy added: “We got together and realised that there were no other groups of this kind in Shefford, so there was certainly a gap to be filled.

“We would really like to put on a pantomime this time next year and for that we will need more members.”

Mr A’s Amazing Maze Plays, which is two hours in length will be staged at Shefford Memorial Hall and will start at 6pm.

Tickets are £7 for adults and £5 for children. For more information contact Tracy on 01462 817603 or at [email protected]
