Deputy fundraising co-ordinator Catherine Sheppard, who will be co-ordinating the charity’s entrants for 2014’s Virgin London Marathon, said: “We have six places available and we would love to give these places to people who have a strong desire to run on behalf of the EAAA and raise money to keep our life-saving service operating across the region, day and night.

“We’re looking for people who are passionate about the charity, perhaps someone who’s had a personal experience with EAAA or has an innovative outlook to fundraising.

“All we ask for in return is that runners who gain one of our places raise at least £2,000 for us.”

All applicants will need to agree to a set of terms and conditions when they apply and all will need to complete an application form stating why they wish to take part on behalf of the charity.
