Sarah Panter of Gorilla Warfare is asking men to get their nostrils waxed for Red Nose Day.

A salon owner with a nose for fundraising is encouraging men to have a hair raising experience to raise cash for Comic Relief.

Gorilla Warfare’s Sarah Panter is challenging men to have their nostrils waxed to raise money for the worthy cause – and promises that it is completely painless.

She explained: “Comic Relief is all about making your face funny for money. Nose waxing is almost the opposite, it’s all about the face, but it won’t give you a red nose!”

Men will be able to pop in to get their nose waxed between 7am and 9pm from Monday to Friday next week. For every set of nostrils waxed, Gorilla Warfare will donate £1 to Red Nose Day and is asking for only a donation to Comic Relief in exchange for the service.

Sarah launched her Stotfold-based service after realising there was nowhere locally that catered exclusively to men.

She said: “I started off doing beauty and waxing for women, but then I started getting asked to do a back or chest wax. In the end I thought ‘I’m going to make this exclusively for men’. Men don’t like having to go to a women’s salon, and they want discretion.

“Even now there’s a stigma, although it’s changing slowly. I’m on a one-woman mission to change the culture, to say it’s really normal now and it’s okay for men to wax.”
