Strange goings-on at the Scout and Guide Gang Show

Cubs in blonde wigs and Beavers in grass skirts are just two of the unusual highlights in this year's Biggleswade Scout and Guide Gang Show.

Now in its 42nd year, it will be the final curtain for energetic producer Nick Gurney who is bowing out of the limelight after 17 years in charge.

Two of the acts set to surprise audiences at Stratton Upper School on Saturday, March 19, feature additions never seen before at a Gang Show in the town.

Eight-year-old twins Ben and Jack Sharp who belong to Neptune Cub Pack are donning long blonde wigs to perform There’s a Hole in my Bucket.

Beaver Scouts from Gemini Beaver Colony will sing the hit single Agadoo in grass skirts. They include six-year-olds Charlie Blacow, Tiagio Bastita and Abigal Preston who take to the stage in the first half for a lively hula dance.

Other sketches will show members from the town’s Scout and Guide Movement celebrating 100 years of Cub Scouting with songs from the Jungle Book.
