Damaged water main in Potton caused by 'wear or pressure build up'

Anglian Water has confirmed that a damaged water main in Potton was likely to have been caused by wear over time – or pressure build up.

Multi-way signals are currently in place at the Bury Hill junction with Sutton Road, with the final day of the repairs set to be on Tuesday, September 1.

The work involves fixing the valve and installing a replacement if required.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “We're carrying out essential work on our water network on Bury Hill to help maintain a reliable water supply for customers.

"We'd like to thank residents of Potton for their continued patience and understanding while our teams complete this work."

Work began on Tuesday (August 25) after water was found escaping from a valve chamber.
