Trees for the future at middle school

Students planted 420 trees in their school grounds.

The native broad leaved trees were given to Gamlingay Village College by the Woodland Trust as part of the More Trees, More Good campaign.

Deputy head Julie Rebourne ordered the trees. Cherry trees were planted in an avenue to the entrance drive. Trees were also planted in the outdoor learning area and in two small copses. Some of them were added to existing hedgerows.Headteacher Colin Pheysey said: “It is wonderful that we can offer the experience of planting a tree to every child at Gamlingay Village College as well as our prospective students in Year 4 from Gamlingay First School.”
