Arlesey cup match at Kettering in severe doubt

Arlesey Town’s Red Insure Cup tie at Kettering Town on Tuesday, October 16 looks unlikely to go ahead.

Kettering’s league game at home to Bideford at the weekend was postponed. The club informed the Evo-Stik Southern League that due to a dispute with the energy supplier there would be no electricity at the ground.

The official club website said: “The club have been asked to give assurances to the league about next Tuesday’s scheduled Red Insure Cup game at home to Arlesey Town - and this game must now be in severe doubt.”

The club was set a 4pm deadline on Monday to assure the game could go ahead at Nene Park.

Poppies caretaker-manager Alan Doyle told the Northants Telegraph: “I certainly don’t expect Tuesday’s game to go ahead given the situation with the electricity.”
