Neither team found any rhythm with both resorting to the long ball forward. Langford made the best chances with Ashley and Brooks going close. The home team ended the half the stronger of the two.

The second half started with Rangers pushing forward and the Reds seemingly unable to string passes together or keep possession.

Rangers, for all their pressure, were not able to seriously threaten the home keeper. As the half went on Langford tried to play football, but ran out of ideas in the final third.
