Potton United beat Newport Pagnell to reach last 16

Potton United progressed to the last 16 of the SSML Premier Division Cup with a well-deserved 2-0 victory at Newport Pagnell Town on Tuesday night.

The hosts were without several players due to injury and unavailability, as they could only field two fit substitutes on the bench, but still took the lead after just six minutes when Eddie Connolly found space in the area and fired into the top corner.

United keeper Sam Galatis saved well from Larry Kagwa, as Jordan Brown almost doubled the lead when he rattled the crossbar.

Brown headed wide, before some good work from Andrew Onsei-Bonsu ended with Harry Dollimore firing off target.

After the break, a poor clearance from the Potton defence saw Jacob Williamson shoot wide, while Brown had a header saved by Finlay Pennistone-Walker, as he also saw another attempt repelled.

With five minutes left, a long ball over the top from Onsei-Bonsu found Brown in the clear, whose low shot beat the keeper to make it 2-0.
