Freestyler Jay Rosa joins DGSS to support young people in Shefford
Rosa is currently embarking on a nationwide tour in support of mental health awareness.
A free football session organised by Dan Gaze Support Services (DGSS) brought young people together in Shefford during the school holidays as part of its ‘Get Off The Street & Use Your Feet’ project.

Held at STMA on Tuesday 18 August, the session gave young people the opportunity to take part in organised matches, develop their football skills and enjoy a free afternoon of sport.
The session welcomed professional football freestyler Jay Rosa, with the performer joining the young players on the pitch and hosting skills workshops throughout the afternoon.

His appearance supported the work of Dan Gaze and DGSS, while giving those attending the opportunity to experience freestyle football and learn new skills from one of the sport’s leading performers.
Rosa is currently embarking on a nationwide tour in support of mental health awareness, while attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the greatest number of stadium performances by a football freestyler.
The record attempt has taken Rosa to professional football grounds across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with more than 70 stadiums already visited as part of the challenge.
His appearance at STMA also reflected the wider focus of Rosa’s tour, which aims to raise awareness of mental health and support young people through sport.
The event provided another example of the work being carried out by Dan Gaze and DGSS to give young people access to free football and positive sporting opportunities within the local community.
