When will new Tier 3 restrictions for Central Bedfordshire be reviewed?

New restrictions announced today come into effect on Saturday, December 19.

After a review of the Government's three tier system, it was announced today (Thursday) that Central Bedfordshire will move to the highest tier. See full story here.

From this Saturday, December 19, Central Beds, along with the rest of Bedfordshire will be designated in the Tier 3 (Very High alert) category by central government.

The Government’s coronavirus committee reviewed the tiers on Wednesday, for the first time since the system was brought back after lockdown.

There will be a five-day relaxation of restrictions from December 23 to 27, which will allow up to three households to congregate for Christmas.

Reviews will continue every two weeks, so there will be another on December 30, and then a third on January 13.

MPs will vote on the tier system again on January 27.
