Tornado steams through district
Sunday saw the Cathedrals Express, hauled by the Duchess of Sutherland, and Peter once again took photos of the loco crossing Biggleswade common.
The Robin Hood was making its way to Chesterfield, a town with strong links to Britain’s railway heritage through George Stephenson, who brought steam hauled railways to the world. His statue stands in the station forecourt.
The Duchess of Sutherland, the first steam locomotive to haul the Royal Train for 35 years transporting Queen Elizabeth II on a tour to North Wales, was taking passengers on a day trip to York.
Peter, who lives in Langford, kindly shared his pictures with Chronicle readers and you can see them on our website.
