‘Wonderful bucket-list trip’ to see Santa Claus and Northern Lights in Lapland with last-minute deal

Lucky souls who have visited Santa in Lapland have described it as a “fantastic” and “magical” experience and, excitingly, discounted last-minute holidays are available in the run-up to Christmas.
There are sleigh rides, snowmobile safaris and an opportunity to see the Northern Lights, just metres from the Arctic Circle, not to mention guaranteed snow.
Described as “a festive wilderness village where fairytales come alive and magical adventures await at every turn”, the Santa Claus Holiday Village has a 4.5-star rating on TripAdvisor and there’s a way to get there for less.
Good news for lovers of everything Christmassy, deals site Wowcher is offering trips to the Santa Claus Holiday Village, in Lapland, Finland, from £279.
The price has been reduced from £528, which represents a reduction of 47%, and flights are included.
One visitor said: “A fairytale place, fantastic experience. I thought it would be for kids but it’s so vibrant and spectacular that I was really impressed.
“The cottage was fantastic with lovely lights all over and the sauna was absolutely amazing given the snow outside. Very nice and comfortable rooms with kitchenette if needed. Breakfast was very nice.
“Highly recommended for a family trip and I suggest staying at the village where all the activities are. Reindeer and husky rides were nice and the ice restaurant was a unique experience.”
One mum was also enchanted by the experience: “The village and location is truly magical. You have to experience beautiful Rovaniemi and surrounds at least once!
“We only visited the village early in the morning or after the buses left (which you can do when staying in the cottages). All tours left from this location and buses were also readily available. This is a bucket-list trip and was wonderful.”
Other visitors highlighted meeting huskies, reindeer, alpacas and donkeys, and seeing the Northern Lights.
On the downside, some visitors criticised the cost of food in the shops and restaurants in the area, with one also saying that the breakfast “could’ve been better”.
