Further VE Day partygoers named

Ronald, who lives in Letchworth, knew Mr Fitton (first right in the photo), and was also able to name the couple who are seated opposite each other in the front centre of the picture (the man is in uniform). They were Ted Henry and his wife Primrose who was Ronald’s aunt.

Ronald says: “I think she lived up the Dells while he was away. I remember how different he was in uniform.”

Ronald is the grandson of David Davis who was Primrose’s father.

Primrose’s home, The Dells in Dells Lane was on the site of her parent’s demolished farm cottage and adjacent to the Davis’ family’s farm land and spinney.
