Potton United well beaten at Winslow United

Winslow moved back to the top of the league with a convincing 4-1 win against Potton.
Their quick attacking play and quick fire shots could have seen them win by a more convincing margin. Potton were again struggling for players and goalkeeper Sam Galatis wricked his neck in practice and was replaced by youngster Sam Watkiss who made some fine saves.
Winslow started brightly with Watkiss having to make two good saves from Flannagan and Freshwater. Watkiss then saved from Scott before King passed to Valentine who shot over the bar.
Potton were defending well before Moses shot wide of the post. It came as no surprise when Winslow took the lead in the 12th minute when Scott crossed for Flannagan to head home. Potton retaliated with Reece Crowter centring but Eri Akintimehim was unable to control the pass. Winslow continued to press and a series of good saves by Watkiss prevented them increasing their lead. Crowter did centre and the ball went just out of play before Devonte Simms was in the clear only to shoot over the bar. Just before the interval a quick passing movement saw Rowe shoot narrowly wide.
At half time Manager Jack Galatis replaced Jack Moriarty and that seemed an inspired substitution because in the 49th minute the ball was played to Holmes who galloped away and scored with a low shot. However in the next ten minutes Winslow scored three more goals through Valentine, Flanagan and Freshwater to virtually seal the match. Crowter saw his centre easily held by the keeper. The remainder of the match looked as though Winslow could increase their lead but Potton did not give up trying.
On Saturday 13 December Potton entertain Haringey Borough in the League.
